CHLORINATED ORGANICS EU 20
Building a biomass that is able to degrade chlorinated organics can often prove to be very difficult. This is the case in both activated sludge systems - of all types - and biological filters and their variants e.g. hi rate, submerged/aerated or conventional, and in the cleanup of contaminated soils.
Such biomass, having been established, may be very susceptible to variations in feed concentrations resulting in reduced efficiency. Rapid recovery following mishap may also be difficult. In addition sludge settleability can be detrimentally effected and equally slow to recover.
EU20 is designed to deal with these situations.
EU20 is a highly concentrated formulation of Group 1 non-pathogenic naturally occurring and appropriate micro-organisms which are capable of oxidising chlorinated organics under aerobic conditions and in varying concentrations. Nature has given them the natural ability to deal with these compounds and to form superior floc forming characteristics, which are essential to good process operation and control. Their use in treatment systems dispenses with the acclimatisation period generally associated with natural seeding or with the employment of an unadapted seed sludge.
EU20 is designed to improve the performance of biological systems in the following ways:-
- It establishes and maintains a biomass, not naturally occurring, that is able to degrade chlorinated organics.
- It generally provides greater resistance to the effects of organic inhibitors present in wastewaters.
- It increases BOD and COD removal efficiency, thus assisting organically overloaded plant.
- It produces sludge flocs with superior settling characteristics that assist hydraulically stressed systems.
- It has greater resistance to the effect of shock loadings resulting from changes in production programmes.

Specific Gravity: 0.5 to 0.7
Contents: Selected micro-organisms and surface tension depressants on a corn carrier.
When used as directed EU20 is completely safe. It is harmless to people, clothing and the environment, and completely biodegradable.
PACKAGING - EU20 is packed in either 10kg bulk (no pouches) or 250gram packed into water-soluble pouches (40 per bucket).
